[MANHUA only]

Salad days… sometimes feelings are best said without words?

…My salad days, When I was green in judgment: cold in blood…

(Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra, 1606)

Not long ago I posted here about shoujo sentiments being depicted in manga.

Similarly, You Gui Xiu (游圭秀)’s “Green Fruits” shows exactly how those shoujo sentiments can be depicted in a manhua short series but without any use of dialogue, as if it was a series of mimes being performed by You’s characters through their body “motions” and facial expressions only. The theme, “Green Fruits” echoes to those sentiments of youthful times, often accompanied by inexperience, enthusiasm, idealism, innocence, or shyness of a young person.

Below one of my favourite stories taken from “Green Fruits“, Cinderella’s trainer* (or *sports shoe)…. well, I shall keep my mouth shut for now and let you enjoy the story yourself (images for illustration purposes only).
